Our client, an industry leading maritime services provider, are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the supervision and delivery of a new build Cable Layer vessel project.

The successful candidate will ensure construction activities are carried out in line with contract requirements, industry best practice, and applicable regulations, while supporting safe, high-quality, and on-schedule vessel delivery.

This is a contract position commencing imminently. The successful candidate must therefore be available as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee vessel construction, inspections, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Implement and manage QA / QC processes, including ITP, FAT, HAT and SAT programmes.
  • Coordinate with shipyard, client, classification society and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project schedule, risks, and performance, proposing corrective actions where required.
  • Manage project documentation, reporting and communication.
  • Support site team performance and SHE requirements.
  • Act as primary liaison for technical discussions, variations and project issues.

Requirements:

  • Extensive previous experience in project management or supervision of a similar newbuild scope.
  • Must hold STCW Chief Engineer Class II Certificate of Competency or a degree in a relevant Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and statutory requirements associated with such projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, fluent oral and written English is a must.
